IAM Shout-outs

for the week of October 16th, 2017

The following IAM swimmers had an outstanding day at the 8th Annual Swim the Suck 10 Mile Race on Saturday, October 14th: Steve Rouch (1st Overall, Men's Division, 3:30.24), Carrie Kirk (9th Overall, Women's Division, 3:48.24), Mark Spratt, Tracy Knight, Todd CloudBob Dickson, and Jon Shope.  Kudos to the kayakers assisting and supporting our swimmers: Thierry Wilbrandt, Christopher Graefe, Melissa Kerker, Gretchen Dickson, Becca Shope, and Shelly Shope. The Suck is a popular marathon swimming race that drew a notable crowd including Sarah Thomas who just set a world record 104 mile Lake Champlain swim. Congratulations to all! RESULTS

lAM member, Bentley Walker (35-39), competed at Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, last Saturday, October 14th. Bentley finished this iconic, grueling race with a time of 11:36:19. Congratulations, Bentley! RESULTS

IAM member, Zach Eagle (18-22), competed at Ironman Louisville, last Sunday, October 15th. Zach finished 1st in his Age Group with a time of 09:46:08 and earned a slot to Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, next year. Congratulations, Zach! RESULTS

IAM member, Perry Heath (65-69), competed at Ironman Louisville, Sunday, October 15th. He finished fifth in his age group and finished 15 minutes faster than two years ago at this race with a time of 13:34:38. Furthermore, Perry swam the 2.4 miles in 1:08, which was 4 min faster than his swim time from 2 years ago. Congratulations, Perry! RESULTS

IAM member, Erika Kacer (45-49), competed in her first Ironman race at Ironman Louisville, Sunday, October 15th. Erika finished the race with a time of 13:40.32. Congratulations, Erika! RESULTS
