What a Weekend: IAM Swimmers Race to Amazing Results in Multiple Venues and Countries

Racing in multiple venues close to home and around the world, IAM swimmers stepped onto the blocks (or into the open water) with determined attitudes. Whether racing a 50 Free or a 15K Open Water, our swimmers competed admirably and achieved amazing results.

USMS 15K Open Water National Championships
At the USMS 15K Open Water National Championships on Saturday, 6/20, in Noblesville, Adam Dawkins won the 15K. Also earning top 5 Age Group finishes in the 15K were Melissa Kerker (2nd, W 50-54), Mark Spratt (3rd, M 55-59), Carrie Kirk (4th, W 45-49), and Lisa Zedonis (4th, W 50-54). In the 5K race, Mike Dolence finished 1st overall and the winning relay team consisted of Brian Cummings, Mike Dolence, and Dean Hawks! See the full results and congratulations to all who competed!

Warsaw Aqua Mile
The 5th Annual Warsaw Aqua Mile also took place on Saturday at Center Park in Warsaw. Finishing in the top spot and setting a new course record was Michael McCulloch. Check out the full Warsaw Aqua Mile results and congratulations on an amazing swim!

Miami Redfin Long Course Masters Meet
Several IAM swimmers headed to Miami University for another IAM-favorite meet on Saturday. This LCM meet always features fast water in a beautiful facility. Check out the online results and congratulate Cheryl Gettelfinger, George Quigley, Erica Smith, and Robin Walker on their races. These swimmers placed either 1st or 2nd in their Age Groups for every race they swam. Way to go!

Sugar Creek Swim Club's Summer Solstice
Taking place in Crawfordsville on Saturday and Sunday, this dual-sanctioned meet was a great opportunity for Masters swimmers to test their racing mettle against the younger set. Check out the Masters results and congratulations to Cheryl Gettelfinger, Kathryn Hicks, and Linda Marvin on their great swims.

Pan American Masters Championships
Just a little farther away, Meg Carlson, Nadine Day, Mel Goldstein, and Stephen Rouch competed at the Pan American Masters Championships in Medellin, Columbia. They are coming home with 9 individual medals, as well as 2 relay medals. The foursome finished with a Silver in the 200 Free Relay and Bronze in the 200 Medley Relay! Check out their results. Congratulations on all your races and welcome home!

We are so proud of all of our members - those who compete and those who train alongside them. We could not experience this level of success without all of you working together. We are excited for what the future holds for this program and for all of you.
