IAM Swimmers Compete Well at the USMS Spring Nationals

Congratulations to the 7 IAM swimmers who competed last weekend at the 2015 U.S. Masters Swimming Spring National Championship in San Antonio, Texas. The weekend not only included many personal best swims and great relays, but 7 individual National Championships by Meg Carlson (50 Breast, 100 Breast, 200 Breast) and Nadine Day (1650 Free, 200 Breast, 100 Fly, and 400 IM) as well. Check out IAM's full results and the meet photos (courtesy of Meg Carlson). Congratulations to all who competed and welcome home!

Indy Aquatic Masters' swimmers rocked the blocks at the 2015 USMS Spring National Championships, which were contested at the Northside Aquatic Complex in San Antonio, Texas. Over 1,800 swimmers flocked to San Antonio from April 23 - 25, 2015, to compete in this annual springtime ritual. The competitors ranged in age from 18 to 98 and included beginning swimmers to Olympians - and everyone in between.

With storms threatening each day, the atmosphere was indeed electric. In the pool, 52 new USMS individual records and 8 relay records were set over the 4 days of competition. Competing for IAM were Meg Carlson, Nadine Day, Jeremy Forst, Cheryl Gettelfinger, Linda Marvin, Stephen Rouch, and Shelby Stultz. Leading these amazing competitors was Coach Dean, who was on deck to inspire, guide, and cajole our swimmers into doing their best for each race. How did they do? The weekend not only included many personal best swims and great relays, but also 7 individual National Championships between Meg Carlson (50 Breast, 100 Breast, 200 Breast) and Nadine Day (1650 Free, 200 Breast, 100 Fly, and 400 IM). In fact, 30 of the 34 individual races by IAM swimmers and all 4 IAM relays resulted in Top 20 age group finishes.

With Spring Nationals behind us, the Indy Open Water Challenge, Pan American Masters Championships, USMS 15K Open Water National Championships, FINA World Masters Championships, and the USMS Summer National Championships are quickly approaching.

Congratulations to all who competed at Spring Nationals. You raced well, had a blast, and made us proud. Way to go, IAM!
